Dr. Tai-Tong Wong is a professor and visiting staff of pediatric neurosurgery at the Department of Neurosurgery, Taipei Medical University Hospital. He is also director of the pediatric brain tumor program at Taipei Cancer Center of Taipei Medical University.
Professor Wong completed his medical training at the National Defense Medical Center, Taipei before going on to specialize in surgery at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. He further specialized in neurosurgery at the same hospital and also completed a clinical and research fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. Since specializing, Professor Wong has held a number of positions, including chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Neurological Institute, Taipei Veterans General Hospital from 1989 to 2012 and chairman of the Department of Surgery, Cheng Hsin General Hospital, Taipei from 2012 to 2014. He took up his current position in 2015.
Professor Wong is immediate past president of the Asia-Australasian Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (2015-2017) and is former president of the Taiwan Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (2008-2010) and International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (2008-2009). He also served as chairman of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies Pediatric Neurosurgery Committee from 2009 to 2013. He has published over 180 articles in his area of expertise.
