InterSurgeon has been created as a result of an International collaboration between the Institute of Child Health in London and the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Initial funding was generously given by the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN) and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Going forwards we have received support from the joint pediatric section of the AANS/CNS and from a number of private individuals who thus far have contributed the greatest share of our funding.
InterSurgeon gained Charitable Status in England and Wales in March 2019 and shortly afterwards we signed a collaborative agreement with the G4Alliance who have funded the development of an organisation platform to allow interaction between InterSurgeon members and the organisations and Academic and Professional Organisations that are working to improve the care of surgical patients worldwide.
Looking towards the future we would like to continue the development of InterSurgeon to embrace all members of the surgical team and the addition not only of the surgical specialities but also anaesthesia, nursing, allied health professionals and medical engineering. We need your financial support for this, so please contact us if you would like to find out more or – for donations of less than $1000 – please use the donation form at the bottom of this page.
