InterSurgeon has been created as a result of an International collaboration between the Institute of Child Health in London and the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. The initial funding was generously given by the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN) and we are very grateful to the Executive Board of the ISPN for their support and in particular the Secretary Gianpiero Tamburrini and the President Graham Fieggen.

Further financial support has been given by the University of Alabama – Birmingham and also from two private individuals in the U.K. to whom we would like to give special thanks.

We should also like to thank Diana Farmer and the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery (GICS), especially Marilyn Butler who has done so much to develop mapping of surgical resources for children around the world. Guirish Solanki and Michael Dewan have given us excellent feedback during the development of this site and finally we would like to thank Rick Abbott not only for his input but also for his continuing support and inspiration.

We are in the process of registering InterSurgeon as a charitable organisation in the UK, following which we will be able to receive charitable donations. These funds will go to support the further development of InterSurgeon and we hope, it’s expansion into other fields of Medical and Surgical collaboration. If you would like to donate to us in the future please contact us and we will let you know once the charity account is established.
