Description of request

We are looking to encourage and facilitate development of neurosurgical research in low-income countries. We would like to partner with local surgeons who perform neurosurgical procedures in writing an article about neurosurgery in these countries.

We would like to encourage and facilitate the development of neurosurgical research in Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Eritrea, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Tajikistan, and the Republic of Yemen. We have conducted and published a study about academic productivity in low-income countries and found no articles from these countries in the literature. A link to our study is here.

We have had difficulty identifying neurosurgeons or surgeons specializing in the brain or spine surgery in Tajikistan. Our World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) Central Office reports no contacts.

We are looking to partner with local surgeons who perform neurosurgical procedures in writing an article about neurosurgery in these countries. Our plan is to assemble a writing group to assist with this task.
