This month, we are highlighting one of our organisation members; FIENS (Foundation for International Education in Neurological Surgery). They have been using InterSurgeon to promote webinars and their own fellowships and scholarships.
At the moment, FIENS is accepting applications for three fellowships and scholarships; FIENS/Bassett fellowship, FIENS/Clack family scholarships and, their latest fellowship, Mukhtar A. Sheikh fellowship. These fellowships focus on supporting neurosurgical trainees from LMICs to complete their neurosurgical training. Both the Basset and Mukhtar A. Sheikh fellowships focus on supporting trainees to complete their training internationally by funding travel and accommodation costs. The FIENS/Clack family scholarship is an international scholarship designed to support scholarships, allowing funding of trainees in developing countries to finish their neurosurgical training in their home country.
“We like using the InterSurgeon platform to post webinars and application announcements for FIENS fellowships. It is a helpful tool to get the word out to a connected community who are all striving to increase global surgical access and training.”
Jeanne Bray, FIENS part-time executive director
