Please join us for the FOUNDATION FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION IN NEUROLOGICAL SURGERY (FIENS) first Global Visiting Professor Webinar of 2023! The webinar will feature FIENS Board Member, Dr. Mubashir Mahmood Qureshi who will present on The History of Spine Surgery, and its History on the African Continent - A Neurosurgical Perspective. Dr. Christelle Nathalie Ghomsi Momdjo, a recent FIENS Clack fellowship alumnus will be the host and moderator for the event. After the presentations, there will be an interactive discussion.

Dr. Mubashir Mahmood Qureshi is a board certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in general neurosurgery, brain and spinal tumors; complex, minimally invasive and revision spine surgery; lateral access surgery (XLIF); and degenerative deformity and spinal fusion.
He is the Chairman of the Neurological Society of Kenya, President - CAANS, WFNS Neuroendoscopy co-Chairman, WFNS Foundation Executive Board member, Vice President NED (Africa region), FIENS Board member, Coordinator C-CNS-ECSAR, a WFNS Reference Training Site, Observer, WHA as member of WHO-WFNS group.

Dr. Nathalie Christelle Ghomsi is a FIENS Clack fellow from 2021. She is currently a neurosurgery resident at Felix Houphouet Boigny, University, Abidjan- Côte d'Ivoire. Dr. Ghomsi completed her fellowship at Yopougon Teaching Hospital in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire under the guidance of trainers Professor Kakou Medard, Professor N'da Herman Adonis, Dr. Bourgi Hussein, Professor Drogba Landry, Professor Broalet Esperance, and Dr. Bello Figuim. In 2022, she was named Best Neurosurgery Resident of the Year and the Best Scientific Collaborator at her training hospital.
