Like you, we are deeply disturbed by the humanitarian disaster in Ukraine. As you know, since InterSurgeon’s establishment in 2018, we have been active in facilitating partnerships between clinicians and organizations to improve surgical care globally. Our program infrastructure is a valuable tool for connecting individuals and material needs. It is our sincere desire to be of service to those in Ukraine and the surrounding region during this horrific time.

We are writing today to ask for your help in accomplishing that. If you have a connection to any surgeons, NGOs, or hospitals in the region that are in need of surgical support please contact us. Many of our amazing members are ready to assist during this humanitarian crisis, and InterSurgeon is poised to be the resource to make those connections a reality. InterSurgeon, however, has yet to establish a strong presence in Ukraine, and we hope you can help us do so by communicating with those in your networks who are based in or near Ukraine.

In addition, if you are interested in being involved in a virtual mentoring program with Ukrainian surgeons using HelpLightning augmented reality software and smartglasses, phones or tablets, please email us, and we will work to connect you with an appropriate partner through our friends at OhanaOne.

Please spread the word among your colleagues – it is amazing what is possible when we all work together.

Sincerely,

Jim Johnston, MD
