A Request in or around Freetown from University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospitals Complex
The University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospitals Complex is the country's only tertiary hospital, serving the country's 8 million people. There is currently no neurosurgeons in the country, and only a few burr holes and shunt procedures have been performed in the last five years by a pediatric surgeon and a general surgeon. Our primary objective is to develop a neurosurgical presence in the hospital as soon as possible. We'll need to convert a vacant theatre room into a neurosurgical suite, train one of our senior registrars to be a neurosurgeon, train support staff, and purchase an MRI/CT-Scan and an anaesthetic machine to fulfil this goal.
