Description
I am Burn/Critical Care/Trauma surgeon based in Atlanta, US. I am faculty at Grady Memorial Hospital with the Walter L Ingram Burn Center. I have had an interest in global health from my previous life as a researcher in NYC with tuberculosis My first exposure hands-on work lead me to Mombasa General Hospital in which I worked under Dr Shaffiq Essajee to build a Family and Pediatric Care Clinic specializing in care of HIV patients. Since then I have had the opportunity to learn from colleagues and provide reciprocal educational support in Chad, Ghana and Liberia.
My interests during residency led me to choose burn surgery. My interests include critical care, public health prevention and psychosocial support. Burn surgery encompasses all these areas and the patients become a part of the burn family in which I can provide support and care at every stage of a patients journey with their burn experience.
