Description
I am Muhammad Hassan Akhtar, a third-year MBBS student at King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan, with a growing passion for neurology and neurosurgery. I have a strong interest in clinical neuroscience and evidence-based research, particularly focusing on neurovascular and neurodegenerative disorders.
Over the past year, I have contributed to multiple meta-analysis projects in collaboration with international research teams, including submissions to the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) and a project with the University of Arkansas. My work primarily involves systematic reviews, data extraction, and analysis using tools such as R and EndNote.
I aim to develop as a clinician-scientist — someone who bridges clinical care and academic research to improve neurological outcomes worldwide. Through InterSurgeon, I hope to connect with neurosurgeons, researchers, and educators to learn about global neurosurgical practices, participate in collaborative research, and contribute meaningfully to knowledge exchange across borders.
Outside academics, I am an active sportsman and take part in upcoming student societies and volunteer programs at my university, believing that leadership and teamwork are vital both inside and outside the operating room.
