I am Professor of Neurosurgery at the School of Medecine Universite Cheikh Anta Diop Dakar UCAD in Senegal and I just retired from a position head of the departement of Neurosurgery at Hopital General grand Yoff HOGGY. Right now I am CEO of a neurosurgery and neurological private clinic
Since 1996 we implemented a residency program and right now more or less 60 neurosurgeons coming mostly from Sub Saharan countries have been trained and were full board certificated and went back to their home land to practice neurosurgery. Pediatric neurosurgery occupied almost third part of our surgical activities; we have to tackle lot of hydrocephalus, spina bifida and brain abscess. Our surgical environment is fair with big need in instrumentation and equipment.I developed already some humanitarians activities toward neighboring countries in need in neurosurgery practice,also I help The Republic of Gambia to implement for the first time neurosurgery with the training of one Medical Doctor.
