Description
The Division of Neurosurgery, Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos Nigeria is one of the 3 neurosurgery training centres accredited for neurosurgery training in Northern Nigeria. The division started in 2011 and it is headed by Dr. Binitie OP, the other consultants in the unit are Dr. Shilong DJ and Dr. Bot GM. Jos has the potential of being an outstanding neurosurgical centre and one of the sites for neurosurgical medical tourism because of it's vast scenic beauty, friendly temperate climate, hospitable people and atmosphere. This institution cares for patients from Plateau State and about 4 other neighbouring States. The hospital is a 500+ bedded University Teaching Hospital, which is responsible for training medical student of the University of Jos. The centre has neurosurgery residents and some are at the verge of completing their training. Despite the wide exposure of the attendings, the centre has significant neurosurgical infrastructural needs.
